What’s the oldest things you’re wearing today?
A kurta my cousin got me over five years ago from Pakistan which is a long top worn in South Asia.
It’s a comfortable cotton top I’ve worn many times. While the quality of the fabric is great, the stitching isn’t. I’ve never worn the floral pink top outside the house. It has no tag as it’s tailor-made which is common in Pakistan.
With regular use, a decorative button has fallen off and there is now a small tear under my right sleeve but I don’t want to get rid of it just yet.
Had it not been for the writing prompt it wouldn’t have occurred to me to write about an ordinary top. It got me thinking about decorative silver buttons and how you can dye your clothes and all the fun things I can’t do here.
