What brings you peace?
Sun dappled leaves, shedding bark, birdsong and the smell of fresh air – nature is designed to bring you peace. Throw in some exercise and it’s good for both the body and soul.
If I start my day with a walk, the rest of the day feels better. I walk when I’m happy or sad, when the park is empty and when it’s teeming with activity. Men set up a makeshift net and play volleyball at night and bring in their own lighting. Then there’s a personal trainer with a few people in the morning who play loud music and take over the basketball court to do burpees and push ups. Then there are the regulars, the man who walks backwards, the runner with the tie-die shorts and the tall sardar ji.
Nature and walks help but what truly brings me peace is cultivating gratitude and trying to build a more meaningful life.
